Semblance: Heat-Sig - The ability to read heat signatures like a thermal radar. It only works up to a few feet and through grass, trees and thins walls. With practice he can extend the range and manage it through more layers (within limits). While using his semblance He cannot see normally thus leaving him open, especially if something without a heat source is sent his way, like a weapon. If used for too long his eyes will grow weary and his vision will blur, causing him to need glasses for the duration of his recovery time. His eyes will also become very sore and sensitive to light.

Weapon: Stagella - Twin Greave-Blades hooked to his boots. The blades pop out via a button on his shoe (similar to how rollerblades in shoes work) on the bottom. The thin blades can turn to be horizontal or vertical, however, they are small and so do little damage. ((He has a larger pair, but the weight of the blades are dis-balancing and so he chooses Stagella.))

Personality: A mild personality Awnen likes to listen and help people however he can. Though he's not exactly a doormat. If he feels he is being taken advantage of or not being appreciated he will refuse.
He has a love for dancing and music and enjoys sharing them with others. He is always experimenting with new hobbies, more out of curiosity then anything else. However, he does have times were something really catches his interest, causing him to somewhat obsess over it for a few weeks.
Despite appearing laid back Awnen loves to be active, running about helps clear his mind and gives him a rush. However, he has a tendency to forget to properly prepare for such activities, such as bringing water with him to keep hydrated.
He is a sucker for salty foods as well as sweets.
He's not particularly snarky, but he does have a rather sharp tongue should he need it. Usually in the defense of others. He usually apologizes if he thinks he's crossed a line, whether he likes the person or not. He isn't cruel in anyway and prefers keeping the peace.
He can be rather animated, especially after having anything with caffeine or a lot of sugar.
He doesn't mind if people touch his horns so long as they ask...or if he knows the person well enough already. He tends to be rather traditional in his politeness, but forward thinking enough to show that politeness to everyone. After all, everyone deserves respect and kindness.
Don't startle him out of sleep, goodness, he'll be shaking for hours.

History:  Awnen is the child of a retired Hunter and a seamstress. He was raised in a home filled with both tales of heroic Hunter/Huntresses and fairy tale lore. This gave him a rather romantic view of the world around him. Despite the discrimination faced on outings Awn managed to retain a hopeful and kind attitude, as well as a few romantic notions. His father, while not famous, did receive a few acknowledgements for his work. He retired in good standing, much to the relief of his wife. This did't stop him from telling Awnen about his adventures and those of his former workmates. Awnen loved to hear them, but not for the action. He liked hearing about all the people that were helped and how they were helping to make the world safer to live in. It made him feel safe knowing Hunters and Huntresses were out there doing this important work. He hoped that one day maybe he'd be able to help too.
Awnen grew up with a strong sense of family despite being an only child as he grew up in the same area as his cousin, a gazelle Faunus named Wiesabe. Though Awn's parents managed to be in a better part of the neighborhood then Wie and his mother. He and Wie spent most of their childhood together, Wie being the troublemaker and Awn being the voice of caution. Awn, already knowing he wanted to be a dancer of sorts, made Wiesabe practice dancing with him every chance he got. His parents were surprisingly supportive of this despite being a normally 'traditional' household. As he approached the age 11 Awn's parents offered to send him to a school that would teach him dance, music and other such things. He was so happy he never questioned it.
In truth Awn had been sent away because his parents had lost the house and had no where else to send him. His father was taking up work as a Hunter again despite having retired. His mother got a job as a maid at a few of the more wealthy houses in the city. Through all this his parents never told him about their loss. It was at the age of 13 that he learned the truth from Wiesabe, who had figured it out almost a year prior. He left the school immediately and returned to try and help his parents, who had moved into a small single room apartment in a rather slummy area. They tried to convince him to go back to school, but he refused. Instead, he chose to stay and get a job.
He ended up getting one at a nightclub cleaning up the bar after closing. It wasn't great, but it was money. Overtime he managed to find a better job, though still at a bar. It was a higher classed bar and this time he was helping the performers. Either getting them ready or fixing up the equipment. His time in that school had given him enough skills for that. Eventually one of the entertainers asked him if he'd like to join them. (No, not that kind of entertainer)
He wasn't the best, but he did show talent. His work was now split between tech aid and performing himself, as a background dancer anyway.
As much as he loves dancing he doesn't feel he'd really be able to make a living out of it. Which works out for him as he was now of age to pursue his other interest.
Being a Hunter. Like his father before him Awn wishes to fight and defeat Grimm for the safety of all.

It took him almost half a year to gather information on schools could attend. Beacon was to prestigious, Atlas was too militant and so on. Every school he came across he found something he couldn't quite overcome. Sometimes it was distance and others, money. In the end he asked cousin what to do. Wiesabe of course told him the easiest way was to write down the names of the schools he could see himself going to and picking them out of a hat...which he did.
Heritage was chosen.

Family:
Mother: Lerune Hartlan{Graz} (Faunus: Gazelle) - Former seamstress, Maid. Like her twin sister Lerune is a kind individual that dislikes confrontation.
Father: Jorgren Hartlan (Faunus: Deer) - Ex-retired Hunter. Because of current physical condition he does little more then general patrols along city walls. Able to still do combat, but not solo.
Aunt: Lawren Graz (Faunus: Gazelle) - Nurse. As stated Lawren is a gentle soul with a dislike for violence. However, unlike her sister she is not opposed to using force when needed. Usually in the defense of the young.
Cousin: Wiesabe Graz (Faunus: Gazelle) - Student. Brash, snarky and generally annoying, however loyal and protective. He and Awnen get along well and are very close.

* He still talks to Wiesabe often, though not face to face due to both being busy.
